Thought I should Introduce Myself

I haven't always been into fitness and eating healthy.  I have always struggled with my weight, and it has bothered me.  I would try to get healthy, but then just give up because I was always hungry and tired. This went on for all of my teenage years and most of my 20's.

It wasn't until I found out that I had type 2 diabetes.  That really scared me, and I didn't want to be on the medication, because of the way that it made me feel.  So I decided that it was now time to make that change and do something about it.  I slowly started to change my eating habits, and continued to exercise.  I successfully lost 30 pounds and became diabetes free within six months of being diagnosed.  I have now been diabetes free for three years, and I'm way excited about that.  I am still trying to get healthier and loose more weight, and at the same time, I'm trying to be body positive.  I post about my journey on Instagram and Facebook.  I am hoping that it will help to be more accountable.


I have a wonderful husband that I have been married to for over 13 years and I have an adorable 8 year old son.  I love to travel, spend time with my family, of course take photo's, write, read, workout, hike, camp and watch some of my favorite TV shows.

Welcome to my little corner of the world.  I am hoping that I will be able to help inspire others by sharing my journey.  I am doing my best to share what I have learned that works with others so they will be able to try it for themselves and see if it will work for them.
